Recreational or Technical Configurations

The evolution of diving continues with Sidemount diving, in which the diver carries one, or more commonly, two or more cylinders along the side of the divers’ body. This can be an extremely comfortable configuration to help eliminate back problems and heavy tanks.

Primarily used in Cave and Technical diving, this configuration is now very common in mainstream recreational diving, with divers realizing the benefits, not only with the ease of diving, but also with the new skills, theory and safety factors available.

Buoyancy, trim, weighting, hand/light signals and gas management skills bring the diver to new levels of personal comfort and competence.
